Congress President Sonia Gandhi who was contesting from Rae Bareli parliamentary constituency has won the seat. Gandhi was contesting against Ajay Agarwal of BJP in the constituency. Rae Bareli is the traditional seat of Gandhi family from where Sonia has been contesting and winning. The ruling UPA led by Congress is in a bad shape as compared to the BJP which is leading is many states ahead of Congress and other regional parties.
