With the Maharashtra Police making it clear it will most likely drop the case against the two girls from Palghar arrested for a post on Facebook, the central government has also issued guidelines to states to curb the misuse of section 66 A of the IT act, under which the two girls were arrested in the first place. However, contrary to the stated aim of the guidelines, the move by the government does nothing to ensure that the Freedom of Speech of the citizens of India is not trampled upon again by the law or politicians.
