Six Indian soldiers are reported to have been killed in an avalanche in the Siachen glacier. One soldier is reported to be missing in the incident. The troops belonged to the first Battalion of the Assam regiment of the Army. The troops were posted at a forward base in sub-sector Hanif on the glacier. The incident occured early Sunday at around 6:15 in the morning.
