Govt is preparing the ground for one shot 30 per cent hike in diesel prices. In the Mid-year Economic Analysis 2012-13 tabled before Parliament today government refers to "diesel Price and under recoveries: Macro Economic Impact", a study commissioned by the Ministry of Finance. Govt says: the study suggests that diesel price hike will have a positive impact on curbing inflation, enhancing GDP growth and reducing the fiscal deficit.
