The chorus for maximum punishment for rapists has been growing among politicians. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has now picked up the BJP's demand for death penalty for rapists. She's also demanded chemical castration. In a statement, Jayalalithaa has called upon the Centre to give maximum punishment to rapists such as death and chemical castration. She's also asked that rape be made a non-bailable crime.
