Maha Kumbh Mela-described as the World's biggest religious gathering- has begun at Allahabad with the Makar Sankranti festival. Coming after 12 years, Lakhs of people have gathered to take a ritual bath in the Ganges, believed to cleanse sins and bestow blessings.
