UK court rejects Ravi Shankaran's appeal against extradition

The prime accused in the Indian naval war leak case Ravi Shankaran could soon be on a plane back to India. The Westminster Magistrates Court in London on Wednesday cleared his extradition to India. The final decision on whether Shankaran will be extradited by UK will now be taken within the next two months by British home secretary Theresa May. The Court asked the Metropolitan Police to confiscate Shankaran's passport. He has now been banned from international travel and will have to live in a single address. He was, however, granted bail against 20,000 pounds. Shankaran's lawyers say that incase the UK Home Secy decides in favour of extradition, they will still have 14 days from that decision to appeal to the High Court against it, which they certainly will do.
