NewsX: Report on VK Singh's 'secret' intelligence unit, destabilising government, raises storm

It's unprecedented, it's explosive and it has triggered a massive political storm. A secret probe by the army has found General VK Singh guilty of using secret funds to carry out unauthorized covert operations to topple the J&K govt and also block the appointment of serving army chief gen bikram singh. The Army probe indicts him for misusing secret service funds to destabilise the Omar Abdullah government in Jammu and Kashmir. He is also being probed for conducting "unauthorised" covert operations and a string of other alleged irregularities by the Technical Services Division, a controversial Military Intelligence unit set up by General V K Singh in May 2010. The probe also says that an attempt was made to block the appointment of General Bikram Singh as Army Chief.br This report has been presented to the Defence Minister; and has been taken up with the Prime Minister.
