A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ranchi pronounced all 45 accused, including Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) leader and Member of Parliament Laloo Prasad, guilty in the case related to withdrawal of Rs. 37 crores from the Chaibasa treasury case number RC 20-A96 in the Rs. 900 crore-fodder scam. This is one of six cases in which Mr. Prasad is an accused in the scam and the first in which a verdict has been pronounced in the 1996-scam. Mr. Prasad may face imprisonment of minimum three and maximum seven years.
