A section of the Indian-American community in the United States has petitioned President Barack Obama to drop the criminal case against Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade, who is charged with visa fraud in the context of bringing an India-based domestic assistant to New York, saying the manner of her arrest and her public humiliation ''injures the sentiments of the Indian American community'' and ''such incidents are bound to strain the India-US relations.
