Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's ambitious plans of decentralising ticket distribution through internal party elections — or primaries, as these are being called — ran into ugly charges of rigging in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, with Surendra Sethi, a rival of Rahul's confidante Meenakshi Natarajan in Mandsaur, quitting the poll process in protest against "fake voter lists".
