Suspected militants Monday shot at and critically injured a Sarpanch, hours after he joined People’s Democratic Party in Shopian district of south Kashmir, police said.br br Shiraz Ahmad Bhat was critically injured after gunmen fired upon him in Shigan area of Shopian on Monday evening, a police official said. Bhat was rushed to a hospital in Pulwama from where he was referred to a Srinagar hospital in critical condition.br br Bhat, who was earlier affiliated to ruling National Conference, had joined opposition PDP on Monday morning.
