The central cabinet has stipulated the decision of 10 per cent reservation for the upper castes. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad gave this information after the Cabinet meeting. After the decision of the Modi government on the SST Act, in the wake of displeasure in the upper castes and the defeat of the three states in the recent assembly elections, it can be seen as an attempt to bring the backward castes to its fold.
