The benchmark BSE Sensex today surged to by more than 400 points to cross 30,000 mark for the first time as the Reserve Bank of India cut short-term lending rate (repo rate) by 0.25 per cent to 7.5 per cent with immediate effect. NSE Nifty zoomed to hit a lifetime high of 9,119.20 in opening trade.
