AAP government supersedes Waqf Board, leaves chairperson fuming

Delhi government led by Aam Aadmi party has superseded WAQF board of its powers and duties for the next 6 months; revenue secretary Ambarasu issued this notice. AAP exercised powers under the WAQF Board Act of 1995. Citing out discrepancies in selection of WAQF chairperson, AAP decided to overrule the High Court order. WAQF board chairperson, Parween Rana considers the move as violation of High Court order and has asked for quashing of thebr notification.
