The Former Residence of the people's president, APJ Abdul Kalam has been allotted to Union Minister Mahesh Sharma. While the government claims that this is a routine allotment, the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party are UP in arms. The latter are citing the controversial comment made by Sharma regarding Kalam wherein he had claimed that the former President was a 'Nationalist' and a 'Humanist' despite being a Muslim. The opposition is demanding a memorial at the bungalow in question but the government has ruled that out by throwing the rulebook in the opposition's face.
