Life has come to a standstill for the second time in Chennai as the southern city and surrounding areas brace themselves for a wet Diwali. Heavy to very heavy rains are predicted across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the next few days. Though the cyclone threat has passed, officials are still on alert in the state. Schools and colleges meanwhile have been shut in rain hit areas.
