It was recently announced that br Aguilera would be honored with br their Ally for Equality award. The organization referred to the singer as an "LGBTQ icon" who has shared "a message of hope and inspiration" to those in need. The HRC recognizes that br Aguilera has raised money br in the fight against HIV, The organization also referred to the Grammy-winning singer's song, "Beautiful," an an LGBTQ anthem of empowerment.
