Thousands of Hongkongers march against proposal to extradite suspects to mainland China

Thousands rallied in the streets of Hong Kong to protest against a plan to approve extraditions to mainland China, Taiwan, and Macau on a case-by-case basis for the first time. Organisers said 12,000 took part in the protest, while police estimated the turnout at 5,200 at its peak. The extradiction proposal came after a high-profile murder case in Taiwan involving a Hong Kong man who allegedly killed his pregnant girlfriend.
