Those were the most crucial to her introduction as a songwriter, she says. In addition to it being home to some of her most beloved musical success stories, it was also a place that offered constant exposure to live music, with strong support for indie writers and singers. It was the south that reunited her with song writing, introduced her to the guitar, and welcomed her for the first time on a stage. br br Influenced by folk, old country, and modern day indie rock, she has been most inspired by performers like Bob Dylan, Loretta Lynn, and Feist. br br Colee James has released her first EP titled "Free Child" this year, and is expected to release new music in early 2015.
