Pesticide-spraying drones rise to challenge of China’s ‘intelligent agriculture’ ambition

The agricultural and forestry drone sales market in China is expected to be worth 20 billion yuan (US$2.9 billion) by 2025, according to a forecast by iiMedia Research. The market size is rising rapidly, and a substantial part of the overall civilian drone market, which at last count in 2015 had reached 800 million yuan (US$119 million). XAG, an agricultural technology company in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, was founded in 2007.
