Henderson fails to investigate the drug overdose death of one of its officers

Henderson Police Department's internal affairs did not investigate the 2014 drug overdose death of an officer. Officer David Sigmund's job was to collect and dispose of expired drugs the public dropped off at the department. Police experts say an internal affairs investigation was needed to determine where Sigmund obtained the drugs and if anyone else was involved. But Patrick Moers, who was chief at the time, declined to investigate.
