80-Mile Swarm of Ladybugsbr Spotted in California The National Weather Service (NWS)br spotted a large mass of ladybugs flyingbr over Southern California on June 5. The swarm of bugs was so big it registeredbr as a “light rainstorm” on their radar maps. NWS San Diego,br via Twitter The cloud of ladybugs measuredbr about 80 miles by 80 miles. The bugs were estimated to be spreadbr out between 5,000 feet and 9,000 feet. According to NWS meteorologist Caseybr Oswant, the mass was so out of the ordinarybr that they sent a spotter to check it out.
