Japanese scientists ‘cultivate’ meat to cope with population explosion

Researchers at Japan’s University of Tokyo have used animal muscle cells to cultivate meat for human consumption. The alternative to meat produced by raising livestock is expected to eventually have a huge impact on food markets as demand grows from a rapidly expanding global population.
