Beto O’Rourke Announcesbr Plan for LGBTQ Equality Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourkebr released his sixth official policy proposal on June 12,br this time addressing LGBTQ Equality in the United States. His plan is composed of three parts:br executive actions he would take, legislationbr he would enact and global steps he would pursue. O’Rourke pledged to overturn the military ban onbr transgender people, as well as reverse “deploy or get out,"br which discriminates against HIV-positive service men. He also plans to increase protection ofbr LGBTQ students by bringing back previousbr U.S. Education Department guidance programs. O’Rourke’s emphasized the need to protect transgenderbr women of color, calling for proper police training, as wellbr as the investigation of increased crimes against them.
