#Agasthyakoodam, Kerala's second-tallest peak, opened for the annual trekking for the first time after the High Court ruled last November that no gender-based restrictions would be imposed on trekkers. Legend has it that Hindu sage Agastya lived here. The local Kani tribes living on the foothills have opposed the scaling of the peak by women, as it is where the idol of #AgastyaMuni is located. The sage is believed to be the guardian of the inhabitants.
