The 4th of July is a major draw for reckless behavior which often extends to the following weekend. In 2017, 40 of all traffic deaths were alcohol-related during the week of July 4th. 10,874 people died in alcohol-related crashes, averaging one alcohol-related-driving fatality every br 48 minutes.
