German Plum Dumpling: A sweet classic

Here's how to make our spectacular German Plum Dumplings. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel first!br br You'll need (for 6 portions):br br For the dumplings:br br - 8.8 oz flourbr - 1¾ tsp dry yeastbr - 2 tbsp sugarbr - 1 pinch saltbr - 4.2 fl oz milkbr - 0.9 oz melted butterbr - 1 egg yolkbr br You'll also need:br br - approx. 2.5 oz plum jellybr - vanilla saucebr - 0.9 oz ground poppy seedsbr - 1.7 oz icing sugarbr br Here's how:br br 1. Use an electric whisk to knead all of the ingredients for the dumpling dough. Leave the dough covered for one hour in a warm place.br br 2. Next, split the dough into six equally-sized pieces. Flatten each piece of dough into small round disks. Place a large teaspoon of plum jelly into the center of each dough disk. Enclose the plum jelly and form a ball using your hands. Make sure that the filling stays inside. Leave the dumplings for another 15 minutes in a covered bowl.br br 3. Cook the dumplings in a sieve over a water bath for 12 to 16 minutes. When serving, pour some vanilla sauce on the dumplings before sprinkling some poppy seeds and icing sugar on top.
