Angry protests took place in at least 7 locations across Hong Kong on August 5, 2019. Violent clashes broke out near multiple police stations in the city at night. Protesters started a fire outside the police station in Sha Tin. The working-class district of Sham Shui Po saw the protests again target the police. A journalist was injured when a tear gas canister reportedly struck him in the head.
