Vince Carter Becomes Longest Tenured Player in NBA History.br The 42-year-old will play in his 22nd and br final season after agreeing to a one-year br deal with the Atlanta Hawks.br He is currently tied with four other players at 21 years in the league.br Carter spent last season with Atlanta, averaging 7.4 points in 76 games as mostly a bench player.br The eight-time NBA All-Star was br originally drafted fifth overall in 1998 br out of UNC by the Golden State Warriors.br He was then soon traded to the br Toronto Raptors, where he spent br the first seven seasons of his career.br Carter hold a lifetime scoring average of br 17.2 PPG in nearly 1,500 games and br a Rookie of the Year award.br He also won the league Slam Dunk competition br in 2000 and has taken home two gold medals br with Team USA in the Olympics.
