POINTERS ON THE NUMBERS:br 1 is 一 yī br 2 is 二 èr but when counting we use 兩 (liang)br 3 is 三 sānbr 4 is 四 sì br 5 is 五 wǔbr 6 is 六 liù br 7 七 qī br 8 is 八 bā br 9 is 九 jiǔbr 10 is 十 shíbr br 11 is 十一 (shi yi): 10 + 1br 12 is 十二 (shi er): 10 + 2br and so on up to 19.br Same with Japanese, once you get to twenty, you start by counting the 10s:br br 20 is 二十 (er shi): 2 10’sbr 21 is 二十一 (er shi yi ): 2 10's + 1br and so on, up to 99.br 100 is 百 (yi bai). you count the 1s + 00 (bai)br br ONLY 200 is different which is 兩百 *(liang bai) the rest are the same until 1000 which is 一千 (yi qian).
