Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid recommends Democrats kill the filibuster. According to the Huffington Post, Reid said this move could help them further efforts against climate change. Reid said: “There’s nothing that affects my children, grandchildren, and their children, right now, more than climate.” These comments cme as more Democrats support ending filibusters in recent years. Filibusters require a supermajority of 60 senators to agree on any legislation so it can pass the chamber.
