The 21-year-old actor br won the award for his br portrayal of Korey Wise in the br Netflix drama, 'When They See Us.' Written and directed by br Oscar winner Ava DuVernay, br the four-part series tells the br story of the Central Park Five. Kevin Richardson, Antron McCray, Raymond br Santana, Yusef Salaam and Korey Wise were br five black and latino teens wrongfully-convicted br of a violent crime in New York City during the 1980s. Jerome dedicated his br award to the men, saying br "this is for the men that we br know as the Exonerated Five." The five received a br standing ovation from the br audience at Jerome's dedication. DuVernay hinted that they would br attend the ceremony in August, br saying, "They are all my date for the br Emmys … I’m going to have them all out.
