Yesterday, during an event in Madhya Pradesh, Javed Akhtar made a controversial statement when the lyricist said he was not averse to enacting a law banning burqa if it was accompanied with a similar action against the ‘ghoonghat’ system prevalent among women in Rajasthan. This has miffed Karni Sena and now they have threatened Akhtar to apologise or be ready for dire consequences.
