India coach Ravi Shastri said he hasn't met the wicketkeeper-batsman after the World Cup but "that's for him to decide if he wants to make a comeback. In an interview to The Hindu, when asked if the team has an open mind about MS Dhoni's return, Ravi Shastri said: "He will go down as one of our greatest players, very, very high up the list."

रवि शास्त्री ने कहा, "अगर एमएस धोनी टीम में वापसी करना चाहते हैं, तो इसका फैसला पूरी तरह उन्हीं पर है. मैं वर्ल्ड कप के बाद से धोनी से नहीं मिला हूं. धोनी भारत के महानतम खिलाड़ियों में जाने जाएंगे. पहले उन्हें क्रिकेट खेलना शुरू करना होगा, उसके बाद देखते हैं कि चीजें किस दिशा में जाती हैं. मुझे नहीं लगता कि उन्होंने वर्ल्ड कप के बाद से क्रिकेट खेला है. अगर वह वापसी करना चाहते हैं तो पहले निश्चित रूप से चयनकर्ताओं को इसकी जानकारी देनी होगी."
