An actor, playwright and thinker Balraj Sahani was aman far ahead of his times. Beginning his acting career with the Indian People’s Theatre Association or IPTA, his film career began with the film Insaaf in 1946. It was with Bimal Roy’s Do Bhiga Zameen, Balraj Sahani’s mettle as an actor was recognized. The film won the International Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
His other notable film’s include Anuradha, Seema, Kabuliwala, Ek Phool Do Maali and Garam Hawa.
