Sara Ali Khan, daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, began her acting career opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in the 2018 film Kedarnath, this was soon followed by the cop-action film Simmba, opposite Ranveer Singh, that was directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Sara Ali Khan confessed having a crush on actor Kartik Aaryan on Karan Johar's celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan, post which the two were introduced at an event by her Simmba co-star Ranveer Singh. It was later announced that Sara and Kartik will be working on the sequel of the 2009 romance-drama Love Aaj Kal that was directed by Imtiaz Ali. Interestingly, Sara's father Saif Ali Khan starred opposite Deepika Padukone in the first part of the film. 10 years later, Sara will be seen paired opposite Kartik Aaryan in part two of the film, also being directed by Imtiaz. While Sara has wrapped shooting for Aaj Kal, she is now busy shooting for a remake of the 1995 Govinda-Karishma Kapoor comedy drama, Coolie No. 1, opposite Varun Dhawan.
