Running Can Reduce Your Risk of Early Death, Study Says

Running Can Reduce Yourbr Risk of Early Death, Study Says.br A new study published in the ‘British Journalbr of Sports Medicine’ has found a link betweenbr running and living a longer, healthier life.br The study, which compiled data from 14br previous studies, found that runners havebr a 27 percent lower risk of early death.br This includes a lower risk of cardiovascular disease,br cancer, high cholesterol and high blood pressure.br Furthermore, researchers found that the benefitsbr of running even applied to those who onlybr run once a week or at speeds below six mph. .br "This finding may be motivating for those who cannot invest abr lot of time in exercise, but it should definitely not discouragebr those who already engage in higher amounts of running."br Željko Pedišić, Study Co-Author, to ‘Runner’s World’.br While marathoners don’t need to change, Pedišićbr thinks those who are more sedentary would benefitbr from adding a 45-minute jog to their weekly routine.
