Postmates Driver Suesbr Lizzo for Defamation .br Lizzo is being sued by a former Postmatesbr delivery driver, Tiffany Wells, after the “Truthbr Hurts” singer falsely accused her of stealing.br The incident began in September, when Lizzo posted a photobr of Wells to the platform and tweeted Postmates saying, “thisbr girl Tiffany W. stole my food she lucky I don’t fight no more.”.br As a result, many of Lizzo’s fansbr began threatening Wells, whichbr caused her to “fear someone mightbr harm her,” as reported by TMZ.br As it turns out, Wells had attempted to deliverbr the food, but was unable to get a hold of Lizzo,br causing her to leave with the undelivered food. .br Lizzo later publicly apologized, saying, “I understandbr I have a large following and that there were so manybr variables that could’ve put her in danger.”.br According to her filed claim, Wells is suing Lizzobr for “libel” and “false light invasion of privacy.”.br She also feels that Lizzobr intentionally inflicted “emotionalbr distress,” as well as caused her tobr “[fear] for her physical safety.”.br Wells is seeking compensatory and punitivebr damages, as well as compensation forbr legal fees and other “equitable relief.
