The Centers for Disease br Control (CDC) released their br findings in a report concerning adverse br childhood experiences (ACEs) on Thursday. Such experiences include br witnessing home violence, br family substance abuse, family br mental health issues, abuse and neglect. The report found that one br in six people in the U.S. has br experienced at least four ACEs. Such people are at a br higher risk of death. According to the report, br preventing ACEs could also br prevent millions of high school br students from dropping out. It could also prevent br millions of cases of obesity, br heart disease and depression. br The report states that the br serious health effects of ACEs br demand more public and br individual prevention efforts.
