SCOTUS Turns br Down 'Serial' Podcast Case.br The murder conviction of br Adnan Syed was thrust into the br public spotlight in 2014 following br the popular podcast's first season.br Syed was convicted of the br 1999 kidnapping and murder br of his high school ex-girlfriend, Hae Min Lee, 18.br Syed is currently serving a br life sentence in Maryland for the br murder.
