Netflix Acquires Internationalbr Rights to Studio Ghibli Films Netflix recently announced their exclusivebr acquisition of 21 films from Studio Ghibli,br a beloved Japanese animation house. This includes iconic films such asbr ‘Spirited Away,’ ‘Princess Mononoke,’br ’Kiki’s Delivery Service’ and ‘Castle in the Sky.’ The movies will be released in waves,br beginning in February, in all regions outsidebr of the United States, Canada and Japan. HBO Max previously secured the U.S.br streaming rights to Studio Ghibli in Octoberbr 2019, and will be available in spring 2020. Netflix is set to subtitle the movies in 28 languages andbr provide new dubs for the movies in up to 20 languages. According to Toshio Suzuki, a producer at Studiobr Ghibli, the streaming decision was made to allowbr audiences to "discover the world of Studio Ghibli.
