भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम ने रविवार (2 फरवरी) को बे ओवल मैदान पर खेले गए पांचवें और अंतिम टी-20 मुकाबले में मेजबान न्यूजीलैंड को सात रनों से हराकर पांच मैचों की टी-20 सीरीज में 5-0 से क्लीन स्वीप हासिल कर ली। इस जीत के बाद टीम इंडिया के हौसले बुलंद हैं। इस सीरीज में केएल राहुल का परफॉर्मेंस काफी शानदार रहान्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ आखिरी टी20 मैच में केएल राहुल को बीसीसीआई ने स्टैंड इन कैप्टन बनाया गया ।न्यूजीलैंड के खिलाफ आखिरी टी20 मैच में भारतीय टीम के नियमित कप्तान विराट कोहली ने आराम लिया था।ऐसे में भारतीय टीम की कप्तानी उपकप्तान रोहित शर्मा को सौंपी गई। रोहित शर्मा ने टॉस जीतकर बल्लेबाजी चुनी। यहां तक कि खुद रोहित शर्मा ने अच्छी बल्लेबाजी की, लेकिन 60 रन के स्कोर पर वे रिटायर्ड हर्ट हो गए। ऐसे में एकाएक केएल राहुल को भारतीय टीम के कप्तान की जिम्मेदारी संभालनी पड़ी।
