Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman made several announcements in the General Budget. Meanwhile, she announced several concessions to improve the economy. However, the government of India announced the disinvestment of LIC, a sixty year old company. Modi government is going to bring IPO of LIC for disinvestment. The government holds 100 stake in LIC. LIC is one of the largest insurance institution in the country. If LIC is listed on the stock market, it is expected to become the largest company in the country.
