Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said she had fixed the long-festering ESOP (Employees Stock Options) taxation wound inflicted by Chidambaram in his 2007 Union Budget. Despite correction, ESOP continues to be a much-abused acronym. As it stands today, it expands to an Egregious State Oppressing Performers.
