Beijing reopened the Xiaotangshan hospital on March 16, 2020, to cope with Covid-19 cases imported into China. The facility was rushed together in about a week in 2003, and was used to care for people infected with another deadly coronavirus – the one which causes severe acute respiratory syndrome (Sars). China has announced that all international arrivals to the Chinese capital must be quarantined for 14 days.
