‘I cannot do what I want and I cannot even work,’ says ‘lost’ Hong Kong protester who fled to Taiwan

It has been a year since the Hong Kong government had the first reading of the amendment of the extradition bill, which led to citywide protests and violent clashes between radical protesters and police that have dragged on for months. Fearing arrest, hundreds of protesters fled to places outside Hong Kong, including to Taiwan where they remain on extended tourist visas as they try to arrange access to other destinations.
