This Day in History: br Police Kill Famous Outlaws br Bonnie and Clyde May 23, 1934 Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker were br killed in Sailes, Louisiana, by police br from both that state and Texas. Tracked down by Texas Ranger br Captain Frank Hamer, the infamous duo br were driving a stolen car at the time. They were killed in a barrage br of gunfire as they traveled br down a country road. The complex reputation of br Bonnie and Clyde had developed and br grown over the course of two years. Responsible for the deaths of 13 people, br including police officers, they were br regarded by law enforcement as cold-blooded killers. The public both feared and thought br of them as pair of Robin Hoods. This reputation br was solidified by the 1969 film, 'Bonnie and Clyde.
