The President of Costa Rica, br Carlos Alvarado Quesada, br posted about the occasion on Twitter. In August of 2018, the country’s Constitutional br Court ruled laws preventing same-sex br marriage are unconstitutional. The legislature was given 18 months to enact marriage equality or have the ruling go into effect upon the deadline’s expiration.
