As The World Is Dealing With Covid-19 Pandemic, People Who Live With Sickle Cell Disease Are At A Higher Risk Of Contracting Covid-19 And Get A Severe Form Of The Disease. In Kenya,It Is Estimated That 6,000 Children Are Born With Sickle Cell Disease Each Year With Between 50-80 Of Them Die Before Their 5th Birthday. With This Years Theme "Break The Silence: Shine The Light On Sickle Cell",More Effort Needs To Be Put In Place Towards Better Policies And Strategies For Sickle Cell Diseases Control.
